Oklahoma Wesleyan landed a big time basketball recruit from the local ranks on Wednesday. Jaden Lietzke from Rejoice Christian in Owasso announce his commitment on his twitter account.

Lietzke starred at Rejoice helping them win the 2A state championship in 2019. The Eagles were state qualifiers once again in 2020 before the season’s final was cut short. The 6-7 forward led the team with 17 points per game, 12 rebounds per game and an amazing 76% field goal percentage. Lietzke has a strong perimeter game and an ability to play above the rim. Lietzke was dominant throughout his career as evidenced by this highlight from a 2019 regional game against Oklahoma Union.

Janson, his older brother, has played in three NAIA national tournaments over the past three seasons for OKWU and will now get to play one season with his younger brother. The elder-Lietzke was key in the Eagles’ KCAC tournament title run with back-to-back 18-point games in the finals and semifinals.

OKWU loses just one player off last year’s 26-win team. The Lietzke’s will also be joined by 6-8 true freshman Aaron Paulukaitis in the paint. After having the 2019-2020 season end on a bad note next year’s Eagles should be in good shape.
