Plenty of Sparks to Fly Between Doggers, Warriors

High-flying offenses will undoubtedly be on display in the first round of the 2A playoffs as Dewey heads to Adair. These teams have met in zero week in each of the last four seasons with the Warriors winning every single contest. This year, the Doggers trailed 18-14 entering the final quarter before a few costly turnovers stretched the score to 32-14 by the final whistle.

Coincidentally, 32 points is the Warriors lowest output all season. First-year starting quarterback Nate Radcliff now was has 10 starts under his belt. Radcliff has compiled 34 total touchdowns (30 pass, 4 rush) on the season. That’s just one more than Dewey quarterback Kale Carner who totaled 33 regular season scores (20 pass, 13 rush).

The Doggers fought through a tough schedule to finish 7-3. All three defeats came against 2018 2A State semifinalists. Dewey head coach Trent Turner, who was the offensive coordinator at Adair last season says the Doggers are battle-tested and confident.

The Warriors went 9-1 in the regular season with their lone blemish coming against Metro Christian, the No. 1 seed out of 2A-4 back in week four. Plenty more on this matchup throughout the week. Radio coverage can be heard Friday on KWON AM 1400—FM 93.3.
