Pawhuska Will Be Challenged in Dewey

Pawhuksa's boy's basketball will be taking on a tough field in the Dewey tournament this week. The Huskies have started out the tourney 0-1, losing to Webster 72-51 on Tuesday evening in Dewey. Coach Monty Unruh says he is aware of how tough the field in Dewey is going to be. The loss drops Pawhuksa to 4-9, and further extends a rough patch that Unruh's team is going through.

The Huskies shot poorly in losses against Pawnee and Barnsdall last week, as PHS has lost five of its last six games. Field goal percentage is one of the main issues for the Huskies still. Unruh talks about the problem

Bad shooting is unfortunately contagious at times, and Unruh says he wants his guys to get out of their own heads and just play basketball. Unruh also says that he knows his guys may be a bit overmatched during their week in Dewey, but he wants them to just go play basketball and get back to having fun.

Pawhuksa hopes to get good performances from Hayden Henley and others in Dewey. Unruh says he thinks his production, along with a few others, can increase.

Pawhuska next plays Cleveland on Thursday at 6:00 PM in Dewey.
