No. 20 Pawhuska kept its momentum rolling, while Dewey’s (1-5) skid continued. The Huskies defeated Dewey 65-51 on Monday. Pawhuska (8-1) dominated on the glass despite some sloppy play to earn its seventh consecutive victory.

Both teams scrapped in a chaotic first quarter with Pawhuska holding a slight upper hand at 17-11. Then the Huskies took off in the second quarter. Pawhuska would outscore Dewey 15-3 before the break. Kevin Davis hit a big three-pointer for the Huskies to spark the run.

Davis finished with 15 points. He was one of three Pawhuska players in double figures on the night. Evan Frye was the top scorer with 20 points.

Down 32-14 at the break Dewey came out inspired in the third quarter. Hayden Thornton and Caden Baughn came to life to at one point reduce the Huskies lead to only seven points. The duo combined to feed Colby Henley on this layup to get the Doggers going.

All three of Dewey’s senior stars finished in double figures. Pawhuska would have an answer for every Dewey bucket down the stretch. The loss marks five in a row for the Doggers.

Dewey wastes no time as it heads on the road to face Chelsea on Tuesday night. Radio coverage can be heard on KRIG 104.9 FM.
