It was a record setting year for the Pawhuska Huskies, as they went 12-1 and scored 695 points in 10 regular season games, which is the most a team has ever scored across the state of Oklahoma. The Huskies got off to a hot start in non-district play, as they rolled past Perry, cross-county rival Hominy and Victory Christian. After a 92-0 victory over Fairland in the fifth game of the season, coach Matt Hennesy knew this group had a chance to do something special.

Pawhuska closed the regular season strong with an 86-0 victory over Wyandotte and 95-7 win over Ketchum. Having received a first round bye, the Huskies advanced to the round of 16 because Hominy had COVID-19 issues. Pawhuska would then go on to beat Warner and Mooreland to advance to the semifinals of the Class A state playoffs where they would face Cashion. Hennesy knew that would be the most difficult game the Huskies had played up to that point.

The Huskies led 6-0 late in the fourth quarter, but a 51-yard touchdown pass gave Cashion a 7-6 victory.

Looking forward to 2021, the Huskies will lose senior quarterback Bryce Drummond, who is going to play college ball at The University of North Texas. Wide receivers Cody Starr and Holton Justus are graduating, as is running back Tel Richardson and nose tackle Jamar Goff. Quarterbacks coach Mason Fine just signed a contract to play for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League.
