Training camp is starting for NFL teams across the country, and former Bartlesville High Bruin AJ Parker will be trying to make the Detroit Lions 53 man-roster for the second straight year.

Parker is one of 12 cornerbacks listed on the club heading into camp. Detroit will officially open up camp on Wednesday, as veterans report today to Allen Park, Michigan. Parker played 530 snaps a year ago as anundrafted free agent out of Kansas State University.

Most analysts were positive about Parker’s performance last year.

The former Bruin also had a forced fumble and an interception in 13 games. Parker probably ended the season with his best game against the Green Bay Packers during Week 18.

He also missed four games due to injury.
