Panthers Get Ready for Tough Road Test at Morrison

The Barnsdall football team got a convincing 33-0 win over Owasso's JV team a week ago, but the last time the Panthers were on the field facing a district opponent, they fell to county rival Pawhuska, 60-12. Coach Kylee Sweeney is hoping for a better outcome Friday night when Barnsdall travels to Morrison to take on the Wildcats.

Sweeney says Morrison has been forced to start a new quarterback because the starter tore his ACL, but he knows they have plenty of other offensive weapons.

The Pawhuska Huskies have scored 48 or more points in six of its seven games. The one game it was held under that total was against Morrison when they only scored 20. Sweeney said he expects the Wildcat defense to come out and play well, even if they are a little banged up.

Lastly, Sweeney said even though there are still four games left in the regular season, this is a big game for the Panthers if they want to make the playoffs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Morrison.
