OKWU Takes Care Of Southwestern Christian

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team improved to 2-0 in NCCAA regional tournament play Wednesday afternoon with a 9-6 victory over Southwestern Christian University at Shawnee.  The Eagles broke an one all tie in the top of the fifth by scoring two runs to take a 3-1 lead.  OKWU then scored three runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to advance to the winner bracket finals. Alex Martinez pitched seven innings and got the win.  Martinez gave up five runs on nine hits and struck out three batters.  Jason Wilcoxson went 3 for 4 at the plate with 3 RBI's while Shaun Baumes went 3 for 4 with a RBI.  Scott Weaver and Ryan Jones each got two hits and a RBI.

Eagles improve to 40-21 this season and will take on top seed and host Oklahoma Baptist University Thursday night at 7 o'clock.  The Bison won 10-0 over McMurrry.
