OKWU Softball Sweep Bacone College

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles Softball team extended their winning streak to nine in a row Wednesday afternoon with a sweep over Bacone College 6-3 and 16-5.

In the first game, the Lady Eagles scored four of their six runs in the top of the fifth inning to secure the win, despite committing six errors.  Makayla Kelly got the win as she pitched seven innings of work, allowing three runs on seven hits and struck out two.  Michaela Shouldis went 4 for 4 at the plate.

In the second game, down 4-3, OKWU came back and scored four runs to take an 8-3 lead.  Lady Eagles got on fire in the top of the fifth and scored seven runs to run-rule the Lady Warriors.  Mykelti Shelton got the win on the mound.  In five innings of work, Shelton gave up five runs on five hits and struck out eight batters.  Britney Howard went 2 for 4 with a homerun and seven RBI's.  Shouldis went  4 for 5 with a double and a RBI.  Heather Jones went 3 for 3 with a RBI and Brianna Miller went 3 for 4.

Lady Eagles are 17-14 overall.  OKWU will next be in action this Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock in a double-header at Tabor College.
