OKWU Softball Splits With Ottawa

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles Softball team traveled to Ottawa, Kansas Saturday to take on Ottawa University.  The Lady Braves won the first game in a pitchers duel 1-0 while the Lady Eagles took game two 2-1.

In the first game, both teams just got three hits a piece.  Lady Braves only run of the game was in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Jenna Daniel, the KCAC and NAIA player of the week took the loss and falls to 15-6 overall.  In seven innings of work, Daniel struck out nine batters.  Jayci Wang went 2 for 3 at the plate while Taylor Johnson got a hit.

In the second game, Ottawa led 1-0 when OKWU scored all their two runs in the top of the seventh to claim victory.  Makayla Kelly went the distance and improved to 11-9 overall.  The Lady Eagles only two hits of the game came from Brianna Miller and Brooklyn Berido.  

Lady Eagles are in a three-way tie for second in the KCAC with Bethany College and Ottawa. Overall, OKWU is 28-17 this season.
