Oklahoma Wesleyan softball has yet to realize its potential in 2019 season. The Lady Eagles currently find themselves in the midst of five-game losing streak in the early portion of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule.

OKWU was salted to play a two-game set with Tabor College over the weekend, however that was rescheduled to April 8. The Lady Eagles are 1-5 in KCAC play with its lone win coming over Bethany on March 16.

Bartlesville-graduate Abby Ely was a workhorse for OKWU last year as she posted a 14-10 record in her freshman campaign. Ely has come on a bit of a sophomore slump as she has just a 2-9 record in 13 starts this season. Ely saw improvement in her most recent outing as she struck out a season-high six batter while pitching into the fifth inning.

Junior Kaylee Clinton has been the top offensive performer thus far. Clinton has a team-high .377 batting average. Clinton is currently carrying a nine-game hitting streak.

The Lady Eagles are in action next against on Saturday for a doubleheader at Ottawa University.
