OKWU Opens KCAC Play at Ottawa

The start of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference season is here for both Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball teams. The Eagles and Lady Eagles will make a trip to play Ottawa University on Wednesday.

The Lady Eagles went 4-0 in an abbreviated non-conference season against marginal opponents. Now OKWU will be tested against a formidable Lady Braves squad. The Lady Eagles own a four-game winning streak in the series. Head coach Grace Hadley wants to see the offense score consistently.

The men’s team comes in highly-touted as it still remains the No. 7 team in the NAIA despite suffering a non-conference loss to College of the Ozarks. The Eagles are 3-1 ahead of the conference opener. Last year the Eagles suffered an overtime loss in Ottawa that was one of just two KCAC games they lost. Head coach Donnie Bostwick says Ottawa is one of the toughest places to play.

The first doubleheader of the conference season is set to start at 6 p.m. from Ottawa. Listen on Sportstalk 99.1 FM KPGM.
