OKWU One Win From Clinching

Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball is one win away from a conference championship and an automatic berth into the NAIA National Tournament.

The Eagles took game one of their three game set against Ottawa on Friday night at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium 12-2 in seven innings. Wesleyan scored eight runs in the bottom of the second to seal the win. There were four home runs hit by Eagle batters, Chris Tapia, Nick McGrew, John Lantigua and Rodolfo Oleta all had dingers.

Ryan Sandifer went the full seven innings on the mound, he gave up five hits and two runs, only one of them earned. He struck out six and walked none.

The victory moves OKWU to one game away from clinching the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference title.

The Eagles will wrap up the regular season with a double-header against the Braves on Saturday afternoon – first pitch at 1:00 and 4:00.

Oklahoma Wesleyan is 45-6 overall, 23-5 in conference action.
