OKWU Men's Soccer Ready For Upcoming Season

Soccer season is just around the corner and the Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s team has begun preparing for the 2017-2018 campaign. The Eagles are looking to ride the momentum stemming off last year’s 19-2-1 record and an NAIA Sweet Sixteen appearance.

Oklahoma Wesleyan will return a lot of talent from last year’s and that has eighth year head coach Jamie Petersen excited about his team’s potential.

Some of the All-American’s Petersen is referring to are forward Aleksander Simovic who scored six goals last season, midfielder Jovan Petrovic and defensive anchors Stefan Milicevic and Nikola fimic who will be looked upon for veteran leadership.

The Eagles finished last season ranked in the top 10 and they should make an appearance in the rankings when the first NAIA poll is released on August 14th. The Eagles will open up the season on August 23 with a matchup against another top-tier program when they take on Grandview University.

We’ll have more on Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer as the season approaches.
