The Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s soccer team put on a quite a show for a broad audience with a 4-1 win over ninth-ranked Missouri Valley in a game that was streamed on ESPN3. The dominating effort gave the second-ranked Eagles their twelfth straight victory.

Stefan Lukic and Stefan Cvetanovic put the Eagles on the board with two first-half goals. OKWU pulled away even further when Cvetanovic cleaned up a deflection and scored his second goal of the day. Here’s how it sounded on the ESPN3 broadcast.

Cventanovic has now scored in nine consecutive games for the Eagles. Freshman Mathues Ferreira scored the team’s fourth goal to put the nail in the coffin in his first appearance of the season.

OKWU finds itself as one of the national favorites once again.  Head coach Jamie Peterson says the team will look to keep improving as the postseason approaches.

The Eagles sit atop the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference with just four regular season games remaining. OKWU squares off with St. Mary on Thursday for another home match.

We’ll have more coverage on OKWU soccer as the postseason approaches.
