Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is looking to build on its momentum as the conference season hits its halfway point. After Saturday’s home date with Kansas Wesleyan the Eagles will have played every conference opponent once.

Right now OKWU is tied for second place in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference with an 8-3 record. Being at the top of the league is nothing new for junior forward Jansen Lietzke. He is the only player that has played in the NAIA national tournament each of the last two years. Lietzke has worked his way from the junior varsity squad to starting lineup. Head coach Donnie Bostwick has nothing but praise for the third year player.

The Rejoice Christian product averages six points and five rebounds per contest. KWU is 9-7 on the season. The Eagles have won the last three meetings in the series.

The Lady Eagles are looking to bounce back against a tough KWU team. OKWU has dropped both of tis games since returning from winter break. The Lady Eagles have gotten a boost from junior Danae Goodwin who has put up at least 10 points in her last seven conference games.

The doubleheader is set for 3 p.m. Radio coverage can be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
