OKWU Heads to Sterling

The third-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan men’s team survived a scare on Wednesday as Josh Wilchcombe’s tip-in in the final seconds moved the Eagles to 13-0. The Eagles will have another chance to avenge one of last season’s losses at Sterling on Saturday.

The Warriors upset the Eagles last February and derailed OKWU’s shot at the regular season title in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.  However, this season Sterling is just 1-8 entering this contest.

OKWU shot just 35% from the field in a one-point win over a lowly Avila team on Wednesday.

The Lady Eagles busted a three-game losing streak with Wednesday’s win over Avila. The Lady Eagles will be tasked with holding down the No. 2 scorer in the KCAC in Kylah Comley. Danae Goodwin has played stellar defense all season and will likely be matched up with Comley on defense.

The Lady Eagles are 8-5 overall and 4-4 in conference. Sterling is a perfect 13-0 on the year and 9-0 in the KCAC. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. for the Women’s game with the men to follow around 3 p.m. Radio coverage can be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
