Oklahoma Wesleayan's men's basketball started its 2019 postseason journey with a 91-69 victory over Bethany in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference quarterfinals on Wednesday night. The Eagles led from wire-to-wire as they beat the No. 8 seed in dominant fashion.

The Eagles stormed out to 19-7 lead within the first seven minutes of the game. Isaak Rowe found driving lanes through the middle of the Bethany defense as he scored several easy buckets early on. Rowe finished with 15 points.

Brooks Haddock was another highlight for the Eagles. Haddock scored 14 of his game-high 16 points in the first half. This three-pointer stretched the OKWU lead to 19 points just before halftime.

OKWU led 51-31 at the break. It was another freshman who sparked the Eagles in the second half. Brandon Bird scored 10 points in a four-minute stretch early in the second half to put OKWU up 73-45. The Eagles would cruise to victory from there.

OKWU will play Ottawa, the team that handed it a loss last Wednesday in overtime, in the semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Eagles are now 29-2 on the season.
