OKWU Basketball Sweeps Conference Doubleheader

The Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles got a win against a quality Kamsas Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent on Saturday as they topped York, 85-77.

The game was tightly contest in the first half with both teams making a barrage of shots from the outside. The Eagles took a four-point lead in to the locker room, but came out playing stellar defense. Oklahoma Wesleyan held York to just four points during the first ten minutes of the second half.

Breiman Alexander hit a trio of three balls in the game including this one which gave the Eagles a 25-point lead.

Sloppy play late allowed the Panthers to make it look closer than it really was. OKWU has now won eight of its first nine gamse to open the year and begins conference play 2-0.

The Lady Eagles got a convincing victory over York as well, 77-62. It was a phenomenal day for senior Guard Tiffany Rieger who dropped a career high 24 points in the win.

The victory puts the Lady Eagles at 1-1 in conference and 5-1 overall.
