Oklahoma Wesleyan’s men’s basketball made a quite an impact on the court in Donnie Bostwick’s first year as the Eagles head coach. However, OKWU is taking advantage of another opportunity to make an impact away from the court as they’ll embark on weeklong mission trip to Santiago, Dominican Republic.

In total 15 players will make the journey. Bostwick and his team are very involved in on-campus ministry especially through OKWU chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bostwick says this trip is a chance to expand the ministry.

The team will get the chance to help with construction projects during the day to help build the local communities. The afternoons will consist of youth basketball camps and the team will get the chance to scrimmage some of the under-19 teams in the area in the evenings.

Bostwick says trips like this are great chance to build team chemistry.

The team will also get a chance to meet up with former OKWU star Sadiel Rojas who plays professionally in the Domican. The Eagles will head to Santiago for the seven-day trip on August 14.
