OKWU Basketball Back Home on Wednesday

Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball is back in action on Wednesday in Kansas Colligate Athletic Conference Play.

The Eagle men cracked the top 25 in the first regular season basketball coaches poll earlier this week, coming in at No. 20. An 8-2 start was enough to convince voters that OKWU was a top 25 team after receiving votes in the preseason poll.

Wesleyan has been hard at work on the practice court the last few days after taking the Thanksgiving holiday off. The Eagles were left with a bad taste in their mouths after blowing a ten-point lead in the last 90 seconds last week against Friends.

Coach Donnie Bostwick says the team will use that loss as motivation going forward.

The Eagles will take the court against Sterling on Wednesday, a team that hasn’t defeated an NAIA opponent this year.

The Lady Eagles will look to rebound after a loss before the break as well. Coach Mark Molder’s bunch is 1-2 in conference and will have a tough test against the Lady Warriors who are 3-0 in conference. Sterling’s women’s side has four players that average double figures.

That doubleheader will begin at 6:00 PM on your home for Eagle basketball—99.1 FM KPGM.
