Oklahoma Wesleyan’s basketball split its conference openers as they traveled to play McPherson College on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles played a back and forth battle but came up short, 91-84. Oklahoma Wesleyan’s five-game winning streak was snapped in the process.

Four Lady Eagles put up double figures in this high-scoring affair. Tiffany Rieger led all scorers with 18 and Mary Hutchins was close behind with 17. OKWU is 5-1 on the women’s side.

The men’s squad got a convincing win, 82-66 to move to 7-1 on the year. The Eagles led by just five at halftime but an 11-2 run midway through the second half separated them from McPherson.

KJ Malveau continued his hot shooting – this three pointer in the second half helped OKWU pull away

Breiman Alexander was the top scorer for the men with 21 points.

Both teams head back home for a conference double header with York on Saturday.
