OKWU Baseball Sweeps Ecclesia

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team celebrated Senior Day in style Saturday afternoon as they swept Ecclesia College 11-1 and 11-0.  

In the first game, the Eagles scored six runs of their 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning to run rule the Royals.  OKWU out hit Ecclesia 14-4.  CJ Gregory picked the win on the mound for OKWU.  In five innings of work, Gregory gave up a run on four hits and struck out seven batters.  At the plate, Zair Koeiman went 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 RBI's while David Espinoza went 2 for 4 with a double and Gunner Joyce went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI.  Brandon Cummings went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's. Austin Murphy went 2 for 3 whiel Jeff Butler, Conner Finkhouse, and John Davenport each got a hit.

The Eagles kept their winning ways in the second game as they scored five of their 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to complete the three game sweep over the Royals.  As a team, OKWU out hit Ecclesia College 12-4.  Aaron Garner got the win on the mound, going five innings of work allowing just four hits and struck out two.  Jeff Butler, David Espinoza, and Jeff Wintz each got two hits while Zaie Koeiman hit a triple with 2 RBI's.  Austin Murphy, Avery Flores, Brandon Cummings, John Davenport, and Gunner Joyce each got a hit.  

The Eagles conclude the regular season with a 43-10 recond as they prepare for the upcoming MCAC post season tournament.  The tournament will be April 30th-May 3rd.  OKWU is hosting the event.  The official tournament schedule will be released soon.  The Eagles will play Thursday evening at 8 o'clock at Doenges Stadium.
