The Oklahoma Wesleyan stretch of dominance on the diamond continued this season as the Eagles won 50+ games for the third time since 2014. This year, Matt Parker’s squad went 51-6 and were ranked in the top-six nationally for the entirety of the season.

The Eagles hit the road on Friday for Upland, Indiana and the start of the NAIA national tournament.

OKWU’s prolific offense is top 10 in the country in several categories. The Eagles have the ability to trot out a lineup with nine individuals with a batting average .300 or higher. Parker knows this depth can wear an opponent thin.

This year’s offense looks a bit different than the 2017 Eagles who hit 112 home runs. So far in the regular season OKWU has hit just 71 long ball’s but it has managed to score 10 runs per game, which is an uptick from 9.7 runs per game a year ago.

The Eagles will begin their pursuit of a second consecutive bid to the NAIA World Series on Monday. They’ll play the winner of Northwestern and Taylor at 7:30 p.m from Winterholter Field in Upland, Indiana.
