OKWU Advanced To NAIA Regional Finals

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles baseball team advanced to the NAIA Regional Finals Thursday afternoon with a 7-3 victory over Grand View, Iowa.

Grand View led 2-1 going into the bottom of the third inning and it was the last time Grand View had the lead.  OKWU scored two runs in the third, three runs in the fourth, and a run in the fifth to go on and play Davenport, Michigan for a shot to play in the NAIA World Series.  Aaron Garner went the distance and got the win on the mound, giving up three runs on 10 hits and struck out two.  As a team, the Eagles pounded 15 hits.  Austin Murphy went 3 for 5 with a double and Avery Flores went 3 for 4 with a double.

The Eagles are now 48-13 on the season and will take on Davenport, Michigan Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock.  OKWU must beat Davenport twice to advance to the NAIA World Series.  The if necessary game is scheduled for Friday at Noon.
