Oklahoma Union basketball is one of the few teams left playing in the area as the 2018 portion of the season’s schedule winds down. OKU travels to Quapaw for its final game of the first semester on Friday.

The Cougars have gotten off to a great start as they currently hold a 9-1 record and sit at No. 7 in the latest update to the class 2A OSSAA Rankings. The Cougars have won eight of their nine games by more than 20 points so far this season. OKU head coach Lee Ott says the tremendous depth of his team has contributed to the early success.

The Cougars are led in scoring by junior guard Kohlysn Gibson at 20 points per game. OKU is a very young roster that has already shown they are capble of playing top-level basketball.

Quapaw is 4-4 on the season. The Cougars will shoot for win No. 10 on Friday night at 8 p.m.
