The high school basketball season is nearly halfway complete and the Oklahoma Union Cougars remain undefeated. The 10-0 Cougars recently came in at No. 3 in the latest 2A poll on OSSAArankings.com.

OKU recently knocked off a tough Caney Valley team 76-38 on Tuesday to reach the double-digit win threshold. Cougars head coach Lee Ott is honored that his team is viewed as one of the best in the state.

The Cougars will be favored in the next three ballgames. Friday against Chelsea, next Tuesday versus Nowata and hosting Copan on January 17. After that the Cougars will play 5A McAlester in the first round of the Old Fort Classic in Fort Gibson on January 23rd. The Cougars opted for a more challenging tournament instead of defending back-to-back titles in the Caney Valley Tournament.

We will have the Cougars on the radio on Tuesday Jan. 14 against Nowata on KRIG 104.9 FM.
