Oklahoma State men’s basketball shot itself in the foot on Tuesday night, as the Cowboys missed a golden opportunity to pick up a big win at home.

OK-State saw a 19-point lead fall away with a little over 11 minutes left in the second half, as No. 9 West Virginia topped the Pokes 87-84 in Stillwater.

Two separate 18-3 and 10-0 runs from the Mountaineers downed Oklahoma State, which falls to 1-3 in conference play.

Head coach Mike Boynton says his club needs to figure out how to finish games better.

This is the second home game in Big 12 play where the Cowboys gave up a big lead. They also let a seven-point advantage over TCU in the final minutes evaporate.

The Cowboys are next at home against Big 12 bottom dweller Kansas State on Saturday at 5:00.
