Offseason Going Well for Bruin MBB

Bartlesville High basketball is having its most eventful offseason in some time, as the Bruins are starting to make some waves heading into the middle of the summer.

Freshman David Castillo has grabbed the headlines with big-time offers and invites to the Team USA. However as a team, Bartlesville has started to turn heads with its performance in team camps.

Bartlesville just wrapped up a 6-0 record at Tulsa Edison over the weekend. Head coach Clent Stewart talks about the Bruin summer.

COVID-19 took away all of the Bruins opportunities to do any offseason work a year ago. With all but one player back from an improved team in 2021, expectations are getting higher for BHS this winter, something Stewart says he and the team welcomes.

Castillo, a sophomore to be for BHS this coming year, has already earned offers from Tulsa and Oklahoma State. He will try out for the 16-and-under Team USA later on this summer. Stewart says more offers are likely to come soon.

We will have more on Bruin basketball later on this month.
