Nowata Ironmen and Lady Ironmen picked up wins Tuesday night at Pawhuska.  Lady Ironmen won 29-20 and the Ironmen won 57-50 to snap a three-game losing streak.

The girls game wasn't pretty, but Nowata found a way to pick up a win.  Nowata jumped out to an 8-0 led after the first period and Pawhuska responded to a 9-2 run in the second period to trail by one at halftime.  Both teams were sloppy with the basketball, but the Lady Ironmen went on a 10-2 run in the fourth quarter to win by nine points.  Sami Steigerwald, Jordan Lewis, and Kennedy Downing led Nowata with seven points a piece.  Pawhuska was led by Kaiti Moen with seven points.

In the boys game, Pawhuska got off to a hot start as they led 12-7 after the first quarter.  Nowata came back in the second period outscoring the Huskies 18-13 to tie the game at 25 at halftime.  The Ironmen would take a 40-37 lead into the fourth quarter and outscored Pawhuska 17-13 to get a seven point victory.  Nowata's Dalton Carter led with 22 points and Zen Callahan finished with 16 points.  The Ironmen didn't make a three-point shot and still survived.  Pawhuska's Ben Gray led with 17 points and Easton Kirk came off the bench and finished with 14 points.  Tyler Wilson was the only player by either squad to make a three-pointer.  Wilson finished with eight points.
