Nowata Sweeps Dewey
It was a clean sweep Saturday afternoon at Dewey as the Nowata Ironmen went 3-0 this week including a 68-58 win over the Dewey Bulldoggers while the Lady Ironmen won 47-35 to the Dewey Lady Doggers. The boys game was tight throughout the game. The score was 56 all in the middle of the fourth period when Nowata went on a 12-0 run and took care of the Dewey for good. Nowata's Matt Price led with 19 points and made five 3-pointers while Nate Moore, K.C. Boultinghouse, and Tyler finished with 11 points a piece. Dewey' Caleb Harp led with 20 points while Justin Davis and Chase Wilson added 12 points a piece. Wilson made four 3-point shots. In the girls game, it was a very physical ball game that could have gotten ugly. A ton of fouls were called and 51 free throws were attempted between the two teams. Nowata's Josey Hale led with 25 points which is a season high for the senior. Jaycie Nickerson led the Lady Doggers with nine points. The Lady Doggers are now 5-18 overall while the Doggers are 13-10 overall and will play at Tulsa McLain on Friday night for the District Championship. Meanwhile both the Nowata Ironmen and Lady Ironmen will conclude their season Tuesday night at Chelsea. The Ironmen are 12-10 while the Lady Ironmen are 11-11 overall this season.
