Newcomers to Help BHS XC

Bartlesville High cross country is hard at work in the heat every morning and evening, as the Lady Bruins and Bruins are getting set for the regular season of long-distance running later on in August.

It will be a mix of young and old this year for both squads. A trio of Bruin guys will headline the boys group in Spencer Hales, James Boudreaux and Max Williams, but Bartlesville will need some more depth behind them if it wants to compete for a state title. Head coach David Ayers talks about some other runners who will contribute this year.

The Lady Bruins will be a little bit more thing in experience, but familiar names in Elena Fries and Jillian Skalicky will lead the way. For the Lady Bruins, it might be an even younger group that will help bring BHS back to a state-title contending club in the near future.

Bartlesville High cross country will have its first high school race in the later parts of August. The club will compete in a few other tune-up races prior to that over the next couple weeks.
