It was quite the night on Tuesday for Caney Valley’s Cam Melchiori in the Bullpups victory over Sedan. Not only did Melchiori breaks the Bullpups single-game scoring record, but he also topped 1,000 points for his career.

Melchiori scored 45 points to help Caney defeat Baxter Springs, 74-47. Coincidentally, the scoring record was previously 43 points, which was set by his older brother Baylor. Bullpups head coach Jim Deaton talks about the accomplishment.

Deaton says he took out Melchiori midway through the fourth quarter because the Bullpups had already built their lead enough. Caney Valley struggled out of the gate at 1-3, but since CV has two blowout wins to get back to .500. The Bullpups take on Baxter Springs on Friday.
