Lady Bruins Run in 2018 - Truly Historic

It was not only one of the best seasons in Barltesville history, but one of the best basketball seasons in Northeast Oklahoma - maybe ever.

The Bartlesville High school girls’ basketball team finished 2017-18 in the state quarterfinals at 26-2. However, the start of the season is the real story.

The Lady Bruins won their first 25 games, and finished at 23-0 in the regular season. It was the first time a Bartlesville varsity basketball team had run through a regular season undefeated. Lady Bruin head coach Krista Binam talks about the team’s run to begin the year.

The wins came against solid competition, as well. Bartlesville won four games over 6A State Tournament teams en route to the undefeated regular season, including a road win against the state champions, Owasso.

The Lady Bruins would see their win streak ended against Sand Springs in the Area Tournament, then lose to Edmond Santa Fe in the first round of the state tournament.

The Bartlesville community showed up for every game, both on the road, and at Bruin Fieldhouse, during the postseason run. It culminated in several hundred Lady Bruin fans showing up at the state tournament – by far the best draw of any first round game. Here is Bartlesville High Athletic Director Ryan Huff.

Bartlesville graduates four seniors off 2018's team in May, but does return three starters for 2018-2019.

Congrats to the Lady Bruins on a historic season.
