High School basketball playoff are back - and the stakes are high.

The Bartlesville High girls will have to win two straight games in order to advance to 6A State for its second straight season.

The Lady Bruins take on Shawnee at 8:00 PM in an elimination ballgame at Jenks High School on Thursday night. BHS is coming off a tough three-point loss to Union on Saturday during its Regional Final on Saturday.

Shawnee will present an interesting challenge for the Lady Bruins, as the Lady Wolves are 23-1 this year, and were undefeated entering the playoffs. However, most of their wins have come against smaller schools.

Shawnee played only three regular season games against 6A squads, and the Lady Wolves had only played one 6A team prior to the playoffs since Christmas. Bartlesville head coach Donnie Martin talks about Shawnee.

Despite the smaller-school schedule, Shawnee has had stellar results.

Only two teams have scored more than 50 points against the Lady Wolves this year, one of those clubs was Booker T. Washington on Saturday, when the Lady Hornets handed Shawnee its first loss of the year, 54-52. Bartlesville has eclipsed 50-points 15-times this season.

A 7:30 pregame with an 8:00 tip – the game will air on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3 - also available at BartlesvilleRadio.com and the Bartlesville Radio App.

Lose and the Lady Bruins are done for the season, win and they will play on Saturday afternoon for a chance at state.
