Lady Bruins Excel at All-State

The East Team had the last laugh at the All State Swimming competition that took place in Bartlesville on Monday evening, and, of course, it was former Lady Bruins who led the way.

Kate Seward was the highlight. Seward set four records at the All-State meet. The East Team beat the West 96-60.

Seward won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. She also was involved in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Seward swam alongside her other teammates that got to compete in their own Phillips 66 Aquatic Center one final time as Lady Bruins. Allison Biddinger, Emily Giovannetti and Greta Olsen were also on hand. Olsen won the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.

The Oklahoma Coach’s Association All-State competition puts a cap on what has been a miraculous run for BHS swimming the past four years.

All four were parts of the past four 6A State championships that BHS has tallied under Chad Englehart. Bartlesville will look to younger swimmers the next few years to try to keep the level of the program at its extremely high expectations. Englehart talks about classes building off each other’s success.

Congrats to all the BHS swimming seniors.

We will continue to follow all of their careers at the college level going forward.
