Lady Bruins Begin Area Thursday

The Bartlesville girl's basketball team has to win two games in a row this weekend to make the 6A State Tournament.

The journey begins on Thursday night against Owasso. Tip off at 8:00 from Will Rogers High School - win and advance, lose and go home.

This is the fourth time BHS has played Owasso this season.

Bartlesville is 2-1 against the Lady Rams in the first three contests. BHS beat Owasso 56-51 on Feb. 7 in the two team's most recent meeting. That game saw the Lady Bruins sprint out to an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter before an Owasso comeback bid made things interesting.

Owasso has been hit by the injury bug the past couple weeks. Two starters, Mya Binhar and Sierra Williams, have both missed time. Binhar, one of the Lady Ram's leading scorers, returned in Owasso's loss to Ponca City on Saturday.

Bartlesville lost to Putnam City West this past weekend to end up in the Area Consolation Bracket facing Owasso.

BHS needs to win on Thursday night, then again on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 to make the 6A State Tournament.

KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3 will have coverage of the game with pregame at 7:30.
