Both the Bartlesville High basketball teams fell in close games on Friday, as good efforts have gone without wins in back-to-back double-headers for BHS.

On the girl’s side, BHS fought back from 22 points down on the back of yet another career night from Chloe Martin, only to fall 62-55.

Martin scored 36 points, a career high as Lady Bruin. Martin knocked down six three pointers, with four of them coming in the game’s final nine minutes to help Bartlesville dig out of a hole. This final three helped get the lead down to two possessions.

An ugly start ended up costing BHS. Bartlesville committed 17 turnovers in the first half, which allowed BA to pull away. The Lady Bruins have dropped seven straight and are 6-14 on the season.

The Bartlesville boy’s put together one of their best performances of the season. Broken Arrow turned things around in the second half to top BHS 58-48.

The Bruins led throughout most of the first 22 minutes of the game, but the Tigers were in control of the game wire-to-wire in the fourth quarter. Nick Smith had this stick back that gave the Bruins their biggest lead of the game just before half.

The Bruins led 25-23 at halftime. It was the only the second time Bartlesville had led at the half since facing Tahlequah on Dec. 12 and the OKC Knights on Jan. 24

Bartlesville drops to 1-19, the Bruins have lost 16 straight. Both Bartlesville teams will next host Union for Senior Night on Tuesday
