The 2015 edition of the Bartlesville girl's golf team may be a good sign of things to come.

Early on the Lady Bruins are being led by a freshman, Faith Hopkins.

Hopkins scored a team-low 84 in the Bartlesville's first tournament of the year in Ponca City at the Ponca City Country Club, establishing her talent early on. Bartlesville girl's golf coach Katie Wilburn talks about Hopkin's background and talent. The 84 Hopkins shot at Ponca City was good for fifth in that tournament. Wilburn talks about what she tries to focus on with young players

Overall Wilburn, who played golf at Bartlesville high school and also colligiately at Drury, was pleased with the team's efforts at Ponca City. Bartlesville took 7th as a team with a score of 412 with Hopkins leading the charge. Not all the Lady Bruins are young, junior Tiffany Loosen was 2nd on the team with a score of 100. Erin Shoemaker had 113 to round out the girls that scored under 115. Wilburn runs down the performances in Ponca City.

As with all the spring sports, weather has caused the girl's golf club some problems. Wilburn says the week before Spring Break was the first that the team was able to practice outside five days in a row.

Jenks hosts the next tournament for the Ladies on March 26 at South Lakes Golf Course.
