It was a tough Friday night for both Dewey Bulldoggers and Lady Doggers basketball teams as both Kansas Comets and Lady Comets won the District titles.  Lady Doggers lost 73-25 while the Doggers lost 80-50.

It was all the Lady Comets in the girls game.  Kansas led 38-11 at halftime and outscored Dewey 35-14 in the second half to claim the District Championship.  Kennedy Cleveland and Rae Dillion led with five points a piece.  Lady Doggers fall to 9-14 overall.

In the boys game, Dewey's Drew Miller got into foul trouble in the first half and the Comets took advantage of Miller's absence.  Kansas led 35-17 at halftime and outscored the Doggers 45-33 in the second half to take the District title.  Dewey did cut the Comets led to 12 late in the third quarter, but Kansas sealed the deal late in the game.  Miller led Dewey with 23 points and Caston Frye finished with 17 points.  Dewey falls to 11-12 overall.

Both Dewey teams advance to regionals next week at Verdigris.
