The pursuit of the season’s second victory will continue for the Doenges Ford Indians on Friday. Bartlesville’s American Legion baseball team will play two games to start a tournament in Claremore against Okmulgee and Fort Smith, Arkansas.

The Indians nearly defeated Three Rivers on Wednesday. However, Bartlesville squandered a 3-1 lead entering the seventh inning. The Indians saw greatly improved pitching in Wednesday’s doubleheader with both starters, Cole Ellis and Britton Eppersen, pitching into the seventh inning. Shawn Sutton returned from a tweaked knee to have base hits in both games as well. Sutton is team’s leader with a .364 batting average.

The Indians are 1-15-1 on the season thus far with their only win coming over McDonald County, Missouri in the Branson tournament earlier this month.  Bartlesville will play Okmulgee at 10 a.m. followed by Fort Smith, Arkansas at 3 p.m. from Rogers State University in Claremore. Both games be heard on Sportstalk 1500 AM—99.1 FM KPGM.
