Indians Split Games At Springfield

The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians began the Springfield, Missouri tournament Friday with a 3-0 shutout to JC Blazers and lost 4-2 to Kickapoo.

Against JC Blazers, the Indians used two pitchers to get the win.  James Cole started the game and improved to 2-0 on the mound while Will Hefner picked up his first save of the year.  In five innings of work, Cole pitched a no-hittter, walked four, and struck out two while Hefner pitched two innings and gave up three hits, walked three, and struck out four batters.  Cole went 2 for 3 at the plate while Trevor Doyle went 1 for 3 with two RBI's.

Against Kickapoo, the Indians managed just four hits as a team.  Braden Beasley and Sam Walker both had doubles.  Zach Snow made his first start of the season and picked up the loss.  In six innings of work, Snow gave up four runs on six hits, walked four, and struck out three batters.

The Indians are 4-2 overall and will continue tournament play on Saturday at 11:30 A.M. as they will take on Nixa.  Bartlesville will conclude pool play Saturday afternoon against Carl Junction starting at 4:30.
