Indians Laid Groundwork for Success in 2020

Just under two weeks ago baseball season ended in Bartlesville for the Doenges Ford Indians. The team ended with a 22-25 record and it’s hard to say the season wasn’t a resounding success across the board. In the midst of a pandemic the summer season went off without a hitch or even a single rain out. Indians Manager John Pannell says it was an accomplishment to play the season out.

Bartlesville reached the finals of the Glen Winget Tournament and the AABC Connie Mack State Tournament in month of July. The Indians went 12-11 in the final month of play against some stiff competition. Pannell says he was sad to see the season end so quickly.

The Tribe had a core of college guys in Calvin Johnson, Dakota Ward, Andrew Harden and Harald Borg that led the way this summer. Some of the guys can come back again and join what is otherwise a very young core for Bartlesville next summer.
