Indians Knocked Around in Doubleheader Sweep

The Doenges Ford Indians were on the wrong end of a doubleheader sweep on Tuesday night at the hands of Three Rivers. Bartlesville got bested at the end of game to lose 9-5 and game two was over early as the Tribe lost 8-2.

Tied at 3-3 in the fifth inning of the first game, Karson Lee would tag a double down the left field line. That would set up Haden Fiddler to knock in the then go-ahead run in an unconventional way.

Starter Ryan Jones worked into the seventh inning in what was a strong start. Jones made a mistake in the sixth that turned into a three-run homer to give the Bandits a lead they wouldn’t give back.

In game two, Bartlesville would fall behind 5-1 after two innings. Josh Webber would come out of the bullpen to pitch 4 2/3 innings and give up just two earned runs. Webber was the lone bright spot for the Indians in the second game. Bartlesville would register its only hit on a bloop Triple from Jakob Hall in the first inning.

The Indians fall to 13-6 on the season. This is the first time the Tribe have been swept in a doubleheader this season. The Indians play next on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a doubleheader against Montgomery County for KWON Night at the Ballpark.
