Indians Fall To Braves
The Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians began play in the 2014 American Legion State Tournament at Shawnee with a 2-1 loss to the Ada Braves in extra innings. The Indians only run came in the bottom of the first inning and took a 1-0 lead. Ada would come back in the top of the fourth inning to tie at one a piece. The score would stay that way until the top of the eighth when the Braves scored the winning run to take care of Bartlesville. Joe Jones came in relief of starter Tyler Yardley and took the loss, dropping his record to 0-5. In an inning of work, Jones gave up a run on two hits and a walk. Yardley got a no decision going seven innings allowing a run on six hits and struck out five. At the plate, Yardley went 2 for 3 with a double while Skyler Frizzell, Chase Fiddler, Bo McSpadden, and Brady Sewell each got a hit.
The Indians are now 20-26 overall and will play Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock with an opponent yet to be determined. You can hear the game on KPGM 1500 AM.
