The Doenges Ford Indians came one win short of grabbing a Glen Winget Tournament title this weekend, as Bartlesville fell in the finals to its rival Three Rivers on Sunday evening in the title round.

Despite the loss in the championship game, the Indians had a successful weekend, going 3-2 at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium in the 61st annual playing of their July 4th tournament.

The Three Rivers Bandits topped Bartlesville 8-2 to win the tourney.

This, after the Indians had dispatched of the Oklahoma Mudcats 11-6 in the semifinals earlier in the day in order to advance to the championship game.

Three Rivers opened up an early lead against the homestanding Indians and never looked back. The Bandits led 4-0 in the top of the fourth before Bartlesville could get on the board.

The Indians got as close as they ever would on this Bandit error.

Three Rivers would extend its lead to 7-1 and then 8-2 for the final. The Bandits are 5-0 against the Indians this summer.

In game one in the semis, the Indians cruised against the Mudcats, taking an 8-0 lead at one point in the early going.

All-tournament selection Andrew Harden got the Tribe on the board first with this RBI single, one of his seven-hits in the tournament.

Harden, Bradee Rigdon and Dakota Ward would all be named to the all-tournament team for the Tribe.

Bartlesville stands at 14-17 on the summer. The Indians have Monday off before getting right back on the horse for a double-header at Pittsburg, Kansas on Tuesday evening.
