The Doenges Ford Indians cannot get the Three Rivers monkey off their back.

Bartlesville lost a couple of heartbreakers to the Bandits on Wednesday evening – Three Rivers swept the Tribe 13-9 and 5-4.

The Indians had a great chance to win both games. Game one will especially stick out, as the Indians led the Bandits 9-7 entering the final inning, when Three Rivers would strike for six runs in the top of the seventh.

This was the second time that Bartlesville has given up a seventh inning lead against the Bandits at home this season.

Game two was not that much different, the Tribe got a great starting pitching performance from Nik Johnson. He threw five innings of two run baseball, before Harald Borg put him in position to win with this two out base hit in the bottom of the fifth.

However, the Tribe’s lead again could not stand. Three Rivers struck for three more runs right back in the top of the sixth. Bartlesville would bring the tying run to the plate, but could not get him home. Three Rivers has beaten Bartlesville seven times this summer.

The Indian’s stay at home against Montgomery County tonight for another double-header on Thursday night.

Games three and four of the final eight contests this week to wrap up the season. The 6:00 PM game this evening is a special one, KWON Night at the Ballpark. Indian’s manager John Pannell says he is looking forward to it.
