Indians Drop Four Straight in Enid

The Doenges Ford Indians had a tough weekend in Enid, as Bartlesville is back under .500 entering a lighter week of play starting on Wednesday.

The Tribe dropped to 6-8 on the summer after it lost four games in a row to the Enid Majors, Plainsmen and Three Rivers at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

Two of the four losses were run-ruled defeats. Bartlesville ran out of pitching after having played 14 games in eight days to begin the summer.

Final scores from the weekend: On Saturday, the Indians fell to the Enid Majors 9-2, then the Plainsmen 6-5. Then on Sunday, Bartlesville lost to Three Rivers 14-1 and the Majors again 17-2.

The closest Bartlesville came to winning was in game two on Saturday.

The Indians came from behind to tie the Plainsmen on a hit-by-pitch from veteran Hunter Harlan.

Bartlesville will begin its AABC Regional Qualifier on Wednesday evening, the first of four games in a row back in Enid at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The Tribe will play single games on Wednesday-Saturday with the possibility of playing a couple more on Sunday for the title.

The Indians are in the AABC Connie Mack League this summer because Legion Baseball canceled its season in May.

Bartlesville also announced some roster additions to help with its pitching depth. Former Indian and Osage County veteran Randsom Jones returns to the club starting next week. And Nate Herchock from Marlow is a familiar name that will help out on the mound going forward.
