Indian's Done at Winget - Finals on Saturday

The Doenges Ford Indian’s trip in the Glen Winget Tournament is over after just two games, as the tournament has canceled any future games at the Oklahoma Wesleyan University practice facility this weekend.

The rains on Friday afternoon nixed Bartlesville’s second game there that was scheduled for Friday night. The Indians will not make up the game.

No teams from the state of Oklahoma made the semifinals of the tournament, meaning play will conclude at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium with the semifinals and finals of the event on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 PM.

Bartlesville will finish 0-2 in its own tournament, as the Indian’s fell to Shawnee 8-0 in a five-inning run rule in their afternoon game on Friday before the rains hit.

The Indian’s had chances slip through their grasp early. Bartlesville had the bases loaded with one out in the second, and then runners on second and third with one out in the third but could not score. Meanwhile Shawnee took full advantage of some Indian’s miscues to score in four of the five innings.

Bartlesville drops to 2-24-1 with the loss.

The Indian’s are next scheduled to take on Ft. Smith, Arkansas in a regular season game at noon on Tuesday.

Winget Schedule for Saturday:

Hillcrest, MO (4) vs. Mt. Home, AR (1) - Noon

Branson, MO (3) vs. Ft. Smith AR (2) - 2:30 PM

Winners play for Winget title at about 5:00 PM.
