Rigdon's First Two Weeks as AD

Bartlesville High’s new Athletic and Activities Director Spence Rigdon has been on the job a couple of weeks, and so far so good for the longtime Bruin.

Rigdon said he is continuing to get ready for the fall of 2018, as practice will be able to start for softball, volleyball and cross country on Monday. BHS cross country is the only team that will start that early. Rigdon talks about the process of getting ready for the season, and what the last couple of weeks have entailed.

Rigdon left the Bartlesville High baseball team after nearly two decades with the program to become the athletic director at Collinsville back in May.

Rigdon has successfully battled cancer over the past three years, and that also led to his decision to move to the administration side of athletics rather than the coaching side. Rigdon talks more about that choice.

Rigdon’s desire to watch his son play baseball at the high school level, rather than coach him was also a part of the decision.

This interview was a part of Bruin Buzz, a weekly chat with the BHS AD that airs every Friday at 9:45 AM on KWON - AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
